Privacy Policy
Last updated:
This policy explains how Banas Recovery Ltd handles personal information when you visit this website or contact us about vehicle recovery and transport.
1. Who is responsible for your information?
Banas Recovery Ltd is the controller of the customer information described in this policy. We are registered in Scotland under company number SC887280.
Registered office: 42 Fivestanks Place, Broxburn, Scotland, EH52 6BJ
Email: banasrecovery@gmail.com
Phone: 07724 671205
2. Information we collect
When you contact us by phone, text or email, we receive the information you provide. Depending on your enquiry or booking, this may include:
- Your name, telephone number and email address.
- Vehicle details, such as make, model, registration and recovery needs.
- Collection and delivery addresses, postcodes, contact details and instructions.
- Correspondence, booking details and information needed for invoices and payment records.
You choose whether to contact us. Without the relevant contact, vehicle and location details, we may be unable to provide a quote or complete a booking. Please only provide details needed for your enquiry and ensure you are entitled to share another person's contact details.
Visiting the website does not send us your email address or telephone number. Our hosting and font providers receive technical information when your browser connects to their services, as described below.
Optional location sharing
The “Email your location” tool can use your device’s latitude and longitude, estimated accuracy and the time of the location request to prepare a recovery enquiry. Clicking “Use my location” asks for one position, subject to your browser’s permission. It does not track you continuously. This is optional: you can type an address or postcode instead, or telephone us.
The location and email preview are held temporarily on this page. Our tool does not send them to our server, place them in cookies or save them in browser storage. “Clear location” removes them from the page; closing the location window, leaving or reloading the page also clears the tool. Your browser or device may use its own location service to determine your position, under that provider’s privacy settings and policy.
Opening the email draft passes the preview to your chosen email application and its provider, which may save drafts. Copying the details places them on your clipboard. Banas Recovery receives the location only if you send us the email. Clearing the page does not delete an email draft or clipboard contents. The preview includes a Google Maps link; following that link shares the location in the link with Google. No map is loaded automatically.
We use your permission for the optional one-time device location request. You can cancel a pending request, clear the result or revoke location permission in your browser settings without losing the option to contact us. Withdrawing permission does not affect earlier lawful processing. If you choose to send a recovery enquiry, the location in that email is then used to respond to your request and arrange the service on the contractual basis described below, and is retained with the relevant enquiry or booking records as described in section 5. It is not used by this tool for advertising.
3. How and why we use your information
- Quotes, bookings and service updates: to take steps at your request before entering a contract and to perform our contract with you.
- Accounting and tax records: to meet our legal obligations.
- General enquiries, business contacts, complaints and security: where necessary for our legitimate interests in communicating with customers, running and protecting our business, and handling disputes, while considering your rights.
This website does not make automated decisions about you or create customer profiles.
4. Who may receive information
Information is handled by people who need it to respond to your enquiry or provide the service, and by the suppliers that support our communications and website. These include our email and telephone providers and the hosting services described below. Where necessary, relevant records may also be provided to accountants, professional advisers, insurers or public authorities for accounting, claims or legal requirements. If a subcontractor is agreed for your transport job, the details needed to complete that job may be shared with them.
5. How long information is kept
Enquiry and booking records are kept for the time needed to answer the enquiry, deliver the service and deal with related questions or disputes. When deciding how long to retain them, we consider whether a booking is ongoing, any outstanding complaint or claim, and applicable record-keeping obligations. Information is deleted when it is no longer needed for these purposes.
Company tax and accounting records normally need to be kept for six years from the end of the last company financial year they relate to, or longer where the law requires it. This does not mean every website enquiry needs to be kept for six years.
6. Website services, cookies and external links
The website has no form that submits information to our server, Google Analytics or Facebook Pixel. The optional location tool prepares an email in your own application. Our page code does not set advertising or analytics cookies. The videos and images are hosted with the website.
The site is hosted through OpenAI Sites and delivered using Cloudflare infrastructure. These services process connection information, such as IP addresses and request details, to deliver and protect the website. The hosting platform may use cookies or similar technologies for security or access management. See OpenAI's privacy policy and Cloudflare's privacy policy for their processing information.
The homepage loads fonts from Google Fonts. Your browser contacts Google to obtain the fonts, which exposes connection information such as your IP address and browser details. See Google's privacy policy.
These technology providers operate internationally, so technical information may be processed outside the UK. Their privacy notices describe processing locations and the transfer arrangements they use. You can contact us for more information about the providers involved in handling your enquiry.
Facebook, Google Maps and Companies House are external links, not embedded widgets. If you follow a link, that provider's privacy and cookie policies apply. The email and phone buttons open your chosen application; they do not submit a form on this website. The location tool can add the location preview to an email draft only when you choose “Open email draft”.
7. Your rights and complaints
Depending on the circumstances, you can ask to access, correct or erase your personal information, restrict its use, or receive a portable copy of information you provided. These rights are subject to legal conditions; for example, some records must be retained to meet a legal obligation.
Right to object: you can object to processing based on our legitimate interests for reasons relating to your particular situation.
To make a request or raise a concern, email banasrecovery@gmail.com, call us or write to our registered office. We may need to verify your identity before providing personal information.
You also have the right to complain to the UK Information Commissioner's Office (ICO). Visit ico.org.uk/make-a-complaint or call 0303 123 1113.
8. Changes to this policy
We will update this page when the website or our handling of personal information changes. The date above shows when this policy was last updated.
